The Family Life, Healthy Living Curriculum is aimed at reaching life-long personal health and wellness skills such as building healthy interpersonal relationships, personal safety, goal-setting and decision-making and communicable disease prevention.
It is a state requirement under Part 13 - Family Life Curriculum (§§ 49-6-1301 — 49-6-1307) that all students in grades 4th through 6th grade will receive instructional, puberty curriculum under the Family Life content umbrella.
The Family Life Curriculum will be taught May 6-10, 2024.
Parents and/or caregivers may opt out of their child(ren) from receiving the Family Life, Puberty instruction. The opt-out forms will be delivered the week of April 15th from their child's teacher and posted below for parents to download and return to their child's teacher.
Parents may review, on their own, curriculum components at the Puberty: The Wonder Years website.
PLEASE NOTE: Collierville Schools still teaches the 2015-2017 version of this curriculum. The lesson outline and materials that are used in Collierville Schools can be viewed in their entirety at the Central Office.
Below are links to the videos that will be shown to the students in the corresponding grade levels. Students will receive prerecorded instructional videos that are ad-free.

Physical Education/Physical Activity
It's important for all students to be healthy and active and our Physical Education teachers help our students learn to enjoy everyday activities that will help them achieve life-long health. Select PE Teachers attend the annual TAPHERD Conference each year to learn the newest ideas to use in the gyms and classrooms.
